Can anyone enroll for CATV-TI online technical training?
The CATV Training Institute provides online technical training for businesses working in the Telecommunications industry. Individuals can only access our training programs through a company sponsorship.
Can I purchase less than 12 course credits?
Unfortunately, 12 course credits is the current minimum purchase quantity.
Can I purchase course credits online today?
Yes, you can immediately purchase course credits online for up to $10,000 per transaction. We accept purchase orders for larger amounts.
How does the CATV-TI certification process work?
Once a payment is received, the appropriate number of course credits will be issued to your company account. Through a company training administrator, using our online Learning Management System (LMS), you will be able to create student accounts and assign a courses(s) to each student. Once enrolled in a course, the students will be emailed login credentials that will allow them to access and complete their online class certification.
Do the courses have to be taken in a specific order?
The courses can be taken individually or in any order, depending only on the student’s technical expertise and the training needs of your company.
How long does it take to complete a course?
Individual courses can be completed in a single day or over several, it depends upon the course, along with the skill level and commitment of the student.
If a lesson is completed will it still be available for review?
No, when lessons have been marked as completed they will no longer be available for viewing.
If a Final Exam is failed, can the student take it again?
The student will be given two attempts to pass the Final Exam (80% correct or better) and the highest grade will be recorded. Should the student fail the final, a reset giving the student two additional attempts can be made with an admin request through our “Helpdesk” support email link.
Are all final exams the same?
No, each final exam consists of 50 questions randomly selected from a much larger pool of course topics. It is highly unlikely that any two final exams will be the same.
Is there a time limit for course completion?
The student has 30 days from initial course enrollment to complete each course and pass the final exam(s). Should the student time expire before completion, a time extension can be made with an admin request through our “Helpdesk” support email link.
Will the student receive a certificate after the final exam?
Yes, when the student passes the final exam a graduation certificate will be awarded and electronically distributed directly to the student. Company training administrators will also have access to employee certificates.
Will I have access to my employee’s progress and statistics?
Yes, full reporting of student progress is provided.
What are the system requirements for taking an online course?
Our courses are viewable on virtually all desktop, laptops and tablets, using either Flash or HTML5.

Windows: Internet Explorer 6 and later, Firefox 1.x and later, Safari 3 and later, Google Chrome, Opera 9.5 and later.
Mac: Safari 3 and later, Firefox 1.x and later, Google Chrome.

Google Chrome 14 or later on Windows or Mac, Safari 5.1 or later on Windows or Mac, Mobile Safari in Apple iOS 5.0 or later on iPad/iPhone.
Can I get a refund from CATV-TI for unused credits?
Although refunds are not given, existing course credits can be transferred with CATV-TI approval and never expire.
Can I suggest future courses to CATV-TI for consideration?
Yes, please submit recommendations using our Contact Page.
Can I check a technician’s CATV-TI certifications?
Yes, by accessing “Tech Check” at https://store.catvtraining.com and entering their unique student ID or Email address.
Can I get a preview of the coursework and school?
Yes, we offer a WebEx presentation. Simply call us or send an email through our “Contact” page to schedule a date.
How do I achieve the designation of CATV Broadband Installer?
A student must be certified in both our Customer Satisfaction and Broadband Installation course.
How do I achieve the designation of CATV Broadband Technician?
A student must complete the CATV Broadband Installer requirements plus certifications of both our Radio Frequency Basics and Tech Essentials courses.
How do I achieve the designation of CATV Senior Technician?
A student must complete the CATV Broadband Installer and Broadband Technician requirements plus our Premise Troubleshooting and Wireless Communication courses.
