Frequently Asked Questions

•   Can anyone enroll in CATV-TI online technical training?

  Yes, we offer certifications for both business and individuals.

•   Can I purchase less than 10 course credits?

  Yes, individuals can simply click on the ‘Individual Certifications’ link and purchase what they are interested in. Although, individuals do not receive the added benefits of a business account.

•   Why have a business account?

  If you are a business, our partners have many benefits. They include a school LMS (Learning Management System) ‘dashboard’ to manage your student’s progress and activity, free failure resets, and any incomplete courses will be credited back for future use. In addition, our support desk is always there to assist you.

•   How does the CATV-TI certification process for a business work?

  Once a payment is received, the appropriate number of course credits will be issued to your company account. Through a company Training Administrator, using our online Learning Management System (LMS), you will be able to create student accounts and assign a course(s) to each student. Once enrolled in a course, the students will be emailed login credentials that will allow them to access and complete their online class certification.

•   How does the CATV-TI certification process for an individual work?

  Once a payment is received, the student will be enrolled in the requested course(s). An email will be sent along with login credentials that will allow access to complete their online course certification.

•   Do the courses have to be taken in a specific order?

  The courses can be taken individually or in any order, depending only on the student’s technical expertise and the training needs. If a student is working on a specific grade designation level, then the courses will have to be completed in the tech progression listed on our site.

•   How long does it take to complete a course?

  Most courses require approximately two and a half to three hours depending on the skill level and commitment of the student. It is recommended to approach our material in one-hour sittings to obtain the best results.

•   When a lesson is completed will it still be available for review?

  Once the lesson quiz has been completed with a score of 80% or better, the lesson will no longer be accessible. If the student receives less than 80%, the lesson will have to be taken a second time.

•   If a Final Exam is failed, can the student take it again?

  The student will be given two attempts to pass the Final Exam (80% correct or better). Should the student fail the exam, a course reset will be given to our business partners for a $10 fee and individuals for a $25 fee. Please send your retake requests to support@catvtraining.com

•   Are all final exams the same?

  No, each final exam consists of 50 questions randomly selected from a much larger pool of course topics. It is highly unlikely that any two final exams will be the same

•   Is there a time limit for course completion?

  The student has 30 days from the initial enrollment to complete the course and pass the final exam. Should the students time expire before completion, a 30-day extension can be granted for a $10 fee. Requests should be submitted to contactus@catvtraining.com

•   Will the student receive a certificate after the final exam?

  Yes, when the student passes the final exam a graduation certificate will be awarded and electronically distributed directly to the student. In addition, our business partners Training Administrators will also have access to employee certificates.

•   Can I get a refund from CATV-TI for unused credits?

  Although refunds are not given, existing course credits for our business partners can be transferred with CATV-TI approval to another account within one year of the purchase date.

•   Can I check a technician’s CATV-TI certifications?

  Yes, by accessing “Tech Check” on our website at store.catvtraining.com or sending an email request to our support desk at support@catvtraining.com.

•   How do I achieve the designation of CATV Broadband Installer?

  A student must be certified in both our Customer Satisfaction and Broadband Installation course.

•   How do I achieve the designation of CATV Broadband Technician?

  A student must complete the CATV Broadband Installer requirements plus certifications of both our Radio Frequency Basics and Tech Essentials courses.

•   How do I achieve the designation of CATV Senior Technician?

  A student must complete the CATV Broadband Installer and Broadband Technician requirements plus our Premise Troubleshooting and Wireless Communication courses.

•   How do I achieve the designation of CATV FTTH Installer?

  A student must be certified in Field Safety, Customer Satisfaction and Fiber To The Home combined.

•   Can I take a courses a second time?

  Yes, course re-takes for students are available for a $25 fee. Although the course can be re-taken, a second certificate will not be awarded. Send your requests to contactus@catvtraining.com
